Enajite E. Ojaruega discusses in her “Beyond Victimhood: Female Agency Nigerian Civil War Novels” the agential roles women played during Nigeria-Biafra war as reflected selected fictional narratives. characters are generally impacted negatively by their individual and collective war-time experiences. However, there is another important aspect of women's experiences that has largely been underplayed most historical or literary accounts on war. agency recognizes this gender’s participatory conflict they reconstruct subjectivity more beneficial ways unfolding circumstances Women depicted being able to explore womanhood other available resources within diverse social, political economic spheres make a difference extremely traumatic period.
